KEVIN GEBERT
Kevin Gebert spent most of his career managing aerospace programs for NASA, Department of Defense, the Intelligence Community, and commercial customers. Included in these programs were spacecraft for deep space projects Deep Impact and Kepler as well as seven earth orbiting satellites.
Kevin is the Founder and Executive Director of SpaceHorizons, a nonprofit that provides a speaker/mentor program and an after-school STEM aerospace program that culminates in a weather balloon launch of student-built experiments in the Mojave desert. In partnership with USC Viterbi School of Engineering, SpaceX, Virgin Galactic, JPL, and the entertainment community this program has impacted over 5,000 minority students in South and East Los Angeles. In 2016 SpaceHorizons was one of just 150 organizations that was recognized by the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for Hispanics. Residing in Boulder, Colorado Kevin also serves as a Staff Member for the Boulder International Film Festival and as a Course Marshal for the Bolder Boulder 10K road race. Kevin is also a member of the Boulder Community Hospital Foundation and provides pro bono consulting to companies and schools to assist them in developing STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) programs. | |||||
